San Francisco/Zurich — Music tech startup Nebula, one of the 200 most promising early-stage startups in the world according to TechCrunch, has partnered with Supply Chain Music, the distribution company founded by EMPIRE Founder/CEO Ghazi, to launch a new approach to music distribution: monetizing music before releasing on streaming platforms.

For most musicians, the current streaming model makes it difficult to earn a living. Under traditional systems, artists often have to wait months after a song is released to see any profit, and even then, the payouts can be very small. This leaves many creators struggling to fund their next project or pay for marketing. Nebula and Supply Chain are solving this by allowing artists to get paid at the start of the creative process, rather than only at the very end.

This collaboration expands on a successful partnership between Nebula and Ghazi that began in 2023. By integrating Nebula’s marketplace, which turns music into an investment asset, directly into the Supply Chain Music infrastructure, the two companies are realizing a shared vision for the future of the music industry.

“We believe that sharing music should be a built-in part of the user experience, not a separate or difficult step,” said Stephen White, CPO of Supply Chain Music. “We are excited to work with Nebula to add Supply Chain’s distribution capabilities to their service, and take advantage of our global distribution network.”

“This is more than just standard music distribution,” said Yamen Hawit, Nebula Founding Member and CPO. “When superfans own a share of a song, they are more motivated to help promote the artist and expand their distribution reach. This creates a much better financial model for everyone in the music industry including the fan.”

This partnership ends the long wait for streaming payouts. By using Nebula’s marketplace and Supply Chain’s distribution network, artists can make upfront revenue from fans before a song releases to streaming platforms. This provides upfront cash without the trap of debt.
